Soothe & Restore Lotion

I have tried every single Kp treatment available. I have tried dermatologist compounds from specialty pharmacies, literally every “rough and bumpy skin” product on the market. Retionols, retin A, 70% Urea creams, every exfoliating cream, scrub or device on the market. I tried laser hair removal and STILL battled the red bumps and lumps. I haven’t worn shorts or a shirt above the knee in 10+ years. I gave up and started having my legs tattooed so I didn’t feel embarrassed about my legs. I found this lotion after following the Keratosis sub on Reddit. I figured what is the harm in losing less than $30? This works. I honestly can’t believe I’m saying this. I f-ing works. I’ve only been using it a week and honestly only use it once a day until the recommendation of 2-3 times a day. There are no words. I still can’t believe it. If you are holding back not wanting to throw money at another failed experiment I say just TRY this!! It so much cheaper than anything I’ve ever used and I am still in shock. Bought 4 more tubes today just in case. I really can’t explain how much this has changed my life.

I randomly developed KP on the backs of my thighs as an adult - mostly the type with rough dry bumps containing ingrown vellus hairs. Not awful, but enough to avoid shorts, and STUBBORN. I've tried all the usual stuff (Amlactin, Gold Bond, various acids) as well as aggressive exfoliating and moisturizing, all with minimal results.

I heard about SmoothKP through the creator's research post on Reddit and immediately bought a tube since it offered a solution other than the usual "exfoliating" or "moisturizing."

I was honestly sold on this on first application, before I even started seeing KP results from it - I have somewhat dry, often itchy skin all over and this is an AMAZING body lotion. It's the only thing I've tried that makes my skin feel soft and moisturized (instead of either greasy, or as if I've done nothing at all) and the feeling lasts pretty much until I wash it off. It's good enough that use it everywhere, not just problem areas, even though I'm cheap and it's expensive. Also, it smells good (which if you've ever had to deal with the cat pee smell of Amlactin, you will really appreciate).

I'm now two months out and have seen a HUGE reduction in bumps. For context, I'm a skin picker who will literally go in with a flashlight and tweezers digging out the ingrown hairs; this used to mean dozens of extractions in a sitting (plus many that I couldn't really "get" that just turned red and irritated). Now I'll find maybe one or two ingrowns at a time; I can still see a bit of flat-ish bumpiness in the problem areas IF I shine a bright light on my skin at an angle, but my skin looks quite smooth in normal light and absolutely better than it used to be (the flashlight trick used to make it look like the surface of the moon.) It felt amazing to finally throw out all the gross half-used bottles of products that didn't really work — the only thing I've kept from my old routine is the aggressive exfoliating.

Surprisingly, I've also seen improvements in areas that I didn't think I had KP - for example, I had stubborn "acne" on my upper back that would flare up pretty much any time I dared to absentmindedly rub my neck. I now believe this was actually KP (or something like it) because it went through some initial purging and is now completely clear minus the occasional lone bump. I also saw a bit of purging on my previously-presumed-KP-free (but dry and a little rough) arms. It's hard to say if my actual problem area (back of thighs) purged or not, since it was a bit of a disaster already (see: skin picking) but either way I'm beyond thrilled with the results. I burned through the first tube in about a month (I was obsessively applying it multiple times a day) but have scaled back to applying once a day after showers, and am getting a lot more mileage out of Tube 2, even using it all over.

My only minor complaint is that I'm really looking forward to the non-lactic acid version of this product; it's summer here and I don't feel great about body dipping in lactic acid during peak sun exposure season.

I can't believe how quickly I started to see a difference on the back of my arms. My case of kp is not as extreme as many, but within 6 weeks, all bumps were gone. I feel so much more confident this summer. Thank you!

I've had KP nearly all my life; no other product has ever made a difference like this lotion has. My KP used to appear as red inflamed bumps that looked like acne. After using Smooth KP for about 2 months, my arms are almost entirely bump-free. I am so grateful for how this product has reduced the redness and texture on my arms that I've struggled with for years. I use it in conjunction with an exfoliating scrub to further help clear up bumps and to fade scarring. I don't think I'll ever be without this product.

I’m in absolute shock at how well this product works. Im 32 and have had KP my entire life and was forced to accept it as nothing worked. I just had my first baby and the hormones made my KP worse than I’ve ever experienced. It was a major insecurity. I’ve used this lotion for four days, twice a day, and the KP is practically gone. The creators of this should be proud and I hope they find a way to market this to people struggling as well.
